The EK-Quantum Momentum² ROG Maximus Z790 Hero D-RGB – Plexi is a premium Quantum Line monoblock designed specifically for the ROG Maximus Z790 Hero motherboard. Combining CPU and motherboard cooling into a single integrated solution, it provides targeted liquid cooling for the processor, voltage regulation module, and LAN controller.

Built around the latest EK-Quantum Velocity² cooling engine, the monoblock combines high cooling performance with a low-restriction flow design. Its high-flow architecture makes it suitable even for systems using weaker pumps or lower pump-speed settings.

Complete CPU & Motherboard Cooling

The Momentum² monoblock provides an integrated liquid-cooling solution for multiple critical motherboard components. The cooling path covers the Intel LGA 1700 CPU, VRM, and LAN controller, allowing these components to be cooled within a single compact block.

This makes it particularly suitable for high-performance systems where stable temperatures are important during demanding workloads and overclocking.

EK-Quantum Velocity² Cooling Engine

At the heart of the monoblock is the EK-Quantum Velocity² cooling engine, featuring the EK OptiFlow design. Its mounting pressure and coldplate geometry are specifically tailored to the IHS and die layout of Intel’s LGA 1700 processors.

The optimized cooling path directs liquid across critical areas of the CPU and motherboard, helping deliver efficient cooling while maintaining strong overall loop flow.

High-Flow, Low-Restriction Design

The Momentum² monoblock uses a high-flow design with low hydraulic restriction, allowing it to integrate easily into a variety of custom liquid-cooling loops.

Its efficient flow characteristics also make the block suitable for systems with weaker pumps or lower pump-speed settings, providing greater flexibility when designing a complete cooling loop.

LGA 1700 Compatibility

The monoblock is designed for the ROG Maximus Z790 Hero and supports 13th Gen Intel Core Raptor Lake processors.

It is also compatible with 12th Gen Intel Core Alder Lake processors and the previous-generation ROG Maximus Z690 Hero motherboard.

EK-Matrix7 Compatible

The monoblock is EK-Matrix7 compliant, allowing it to integrate naturally into compatible EK liquid-cooling configurations and simplify component positioning and tubing planning.

Premium Construction

The base is manufactured from nickel-plated electrolytic copper, providing the thermal interface between the cooling liquid and the covered components.

A high-quality cast acrylic / Plexi top provides a clear view of the internal cooling channel while complementing the integrated D-RGB lighting.

D-RGB Addressable Lighting

The Momentum² features 8 addressable D-RGB LEDs integrated into the monoblock for a customizable lighting effect.

The included 500mm D-RGB cable uses a standard 3-pin 5V D-RGB connector and connects to the ROG motherboard’s Aura Gen2 addressable header.

ASUS Aura Sync Compatibility

The monoblock is compatible with ASUS Aura Sync RGB control software, allowing the D-RGB lighting to be synchronized with compatible components.

When connecting the D-RGB cable, align the arrow marking on the connector with the +5V marking on the motherboard’s AURA addressable Gen2 LED header.

Integrated I/O Cover

The monoblock includes an integrated I/O cover, making integration with the motherboard’s Polymo Lighting Display straightforward while maintaining a cohesive appearance around the motherboard’s rear I/O area.

One-Piece Monoblock Design

Unlike solutions that combine multiple separate cooling components, the Momentum² is designed as a single sturdy monoblock. Only two connector fittings are required for proper operation, helping simplify the overall liquid-cooling installation.

Easy Installation

The monoblock comes with nickel-plated brass screw-in standoffs pre-installed, simplifying installation onto the compatible motherboard.

For the CPU interface, the package includes EK-Loop Thermal Paste NGP, an electrically non-conductive thermal grease intended for use with the processor.
