Product Overview

The EKWB EK-Quantum Velocity² D-RGB 1700 Nickel + Plexi is a premium CPU water block engineered specifically for Intel processors using the LGA 1700 socket. It combines a socket-specific OptiFlow cooling engine with a precision-machined nickel-plated copper coldplate to deliver efficient heat transfer and low hydraulic restriction.

The Velocity² also introduces EK’s Exact Mount mounting system and EK-Matrix7 compatibility, simplifying installation and helping create clean, organized custom liquid-cooling loops. Its Plexi top and integrated 14-LED D-RGB illumination provide a high-end showcase appearance for modern gaming and enthusiast PCs.

Socket-Specific OptiFlow Cooling Engine

The OptiFlow cooling engine is specifically engineered for Intel LGA 1700 processors.

Its coldplate geometry and mounting pressure are optimized around the IHS and die layout of the LGA 1700 platform. The precision-machined coldplate is designed to provide effective coverage and contact over the processor’s heat-generating areas.

High-Purity Nickel-Plated Copper Coldplate

The coldplate is manufactured from 99.99% pure electrolytic copper and precision machined for efficient contact and heat transfer.

The copper coldplate is then nickel-plated, providing a durable premium finish while maintaining the thermal performance expected from a high-end custom liquid-cooling block.

Low-Restriction Hydraulic Design

The Velocity² cooling engine is designed with low hydraulic flow restriction, allowing it to operate effectively even in systems using lower pump speeds or less powerful pumps.

This makes the block suitable for custom loops where reduced pump speed and quieter operation are important considerations without unnecessarily compromising cooling performance.

EK-Exact Mount System

The water block uses EK’s patent-pending EK-Exact Mount installation system.

The mounting mechanism consists of the backplate, mounting screws, and water block. Installation is performed from the rear, leaving the front of the block clean and free from visible mounting screws.

Pre-tensioned springs are concealed within the water block, allowing the system to achieve the required mounting pressure with just a few turns of the thumb nuts.

EK-Matrix7 Compatible

The Velocity² is fully EK-Matrix7 compatible, following EK’s standardized 7mm dimensional system for product heights and port spacing.

Matrix7 simplifies custom-loop planning by making component alignment more predictable and helping users create cleaner, more organized tubing runs.

Plexi Top with D-RGB Lighting

This version features a CNC-machined cast Acrylic / Plexi top that showcases the internal design while providing a premium appearance.

Integrated 14 addressable RGB LEDs are positioned beneath the protruding section of the top and use the component itself as a light diffuser, producing an illuminated custom-loop centerpiece.

Addressable 5V D-RGB Compatibility

The integrated lighting uses a standard 3-pin 5V D-RGB connector and is compatible with popular addressable RGB synchronization technologies from major motherboard manufacturers.

For correct operation, the arrow marking on the D-RGB connector should be aligned with the +5V marking on the motherboard’s D-RGB header.
